Found: The Best Pressure Cooker Ever (Yes, You Should Own A Pressure Cooker)

Less time in the kitchen, the ability to make more healthy recipes? That's a win-win.

Drumroll, please: The best kitchen appliance out there right now is the… Instant Pot. Not only is it, as mentioned, the literal best pressure cooker ever, but it also happens to be a multi-function appliance that also acts as a slow cooker, rice cooker, saute/browning, yogurt maker, steamer and warmer—all in one.

This trending appliance is single-handedly responsible for the major comeback of a not-so-modern cooking technique: Pressure cooking. Yes, pressure cooking. It is very likely that your grandmother or great-grandmother used a pressure cooker in her day. According to a website actually called Discover Pressure Cooking, the first modern in-home pressure cooker was introduced at the New York World’s Fair in 1939. By the end of 1941, pressure cookers were the most popular home appliance. During World War II, production on pressure cookers came to a halt when metal was in short supply and needed for the war. After the war, the product lost popularity as the introduction of convenient foods and fast foods emerged in the 60s and 70s. Now, 76 years later, the Instant Pot is the one of the best-selling items on Amazon in the US today.

To note: It is encouraged that you do read the manual, because there is a small learning curve to the appliance and figuring out the buttons and settings and things. Once you have it figured out though, you will be making poached eggs in three minutes, rice in six, and, who knows, you might just be making your own coconut milk yogurt. The sky is the limit! I absolutely love this product (it really is the BEST pressure cooker ever) and recommend it to all my clients who say they are too busy to cook. No more excuses, guys.
